1950's Prameta 405 Buick
This is surely one of the most ingenious clockwork model cars ever made. This magnificent toy buick was produced by Prameta, Germany, in the late 1940's through to the early 1950's. The model is entirely metal in construction with the exception of the rubber tyres and is finished in chrome.
This toy comes alive when set loose on a good smooth floor: it has three forward speeds, neutral and reverse gear. The car also has automatic steering and is able to drive in several different patterns on the floor. The little metal traffic officer acts as the winding key and to top it all off this one still has its original box!
The car is 140mm long x 50mm wide x 40mm tall and weighs approx 300 grams.
